This is the third Business Proposal Scorecard(Expertise). Main focus: Target the Client’s Exact Needs. Effective proposals target customers’ goals and expectations. Once prospects know that you are aiming at the right target, they need to determine if you can do the job. You want to show that your expertise closely matches what the client is looking for, This is usually done in two ways: first by demonstrating experience in the field, typically through a relevant job history, and second by mentioning similar projects you have done with successful results, The most effective way to address expertise, especially in letter proposals, is to state in a power paragraph that you have the experience and then attach a list of work experience and prior contracts tat are pertinent to the project in your proposal
Power Paragraph: Elements of the Power Paragraph
First goal: Explain what type of expertise is required for the project. For example PokerMania.com (site with poker instruction, supplies, accessories, and news on upcoming tournaments by state). Proposal for the soon-to-open Washington County Race Track card room to offer an interactive computer poker course, with a simulated game environment, to enable new players to learn how to play the five types of card games offered by the card room. A poker course requires insight into reading other players, anticipating the odds, and knowing how and when to bluff. A poker course must be taught by an experienced poker player, but most importantly with poker players who have successfully set up poker training sites in the past and understand the needs of novice poker players.
Second goal: State your company’s special expertise that matches the project needs. For example PokerMania.com PokerMania’s staff of four poker buffs, who are also software engineers, are currently on their fourth generation of computer poker training courses. PokerMania opened about 12 months before the latest Texas Hold’Em craze and had three years to develop its current level of sophisticated software .
Conclusion: Summarize your company’s relevant experience. For example PokerMania.com PokerMania has had over 25,000 people utilize its interactive Web course and has setup training computers at two card rooms in Arizona casinos. No company in the U.S. has more experience setting up interactive poker training courses.
